Llamada tambien Plaza Libertad por la estatua erigida en su centro en 1867-obra del escultor Jose Livi-, aunque dicha estatua no simboliza a la libertad, sino a la Paz, en recuerdo a la que puso termino en 1865 a la revolucion del Gral.
