Cubs vs Reds, 13-Aug-13

We all got together to see a Cubs games. It was a nice clear, cool, evening game against the Cincinnati Reds. Featured this evening, the Chicago Cubs organization gave special recognition to Ernie Banks for receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Fellow Hall of Fame Cub Billy Williams gave a wonderful introduction to Ernie. Mr Cub gave a very enthusiastic speech. I really enjoyed seeing this; I also spent some time with the kids explaining Ernie’s history and what he meant to my childhood.
Especially moving, the Wrigley Field multimedia show accompanying Ernie’s presentation included a brief replay of his 500th home run. I remember that like it was yesterday!
We watched in Cubs vs Reds game from our seats in Section 30, Row 9. This was centered right behind the Reds Dugout. We could see everything up close; so cool. We did have a slight fear of foul balls, but luckily none came close. Also, this section seems to be one of the best serviced; we had food and drink vendors walking in front of us more than I have ever experienced at Wrigley Field. It was mostly ok.
For reference, the game box score can be found on ESPN with the Cubs losing 6-4 in 11 innings.
