Fox River Kayak Yorkville to Millington

We launched at the Yorkville boat launch area, near the Fox River rapids recently built in Yorkville. The trip followed the river South and West to the Lois Landing area of Millington, just after Bridge Street.
We enjoyed seeing the numerous Buzzards near the beginning of the paddle and we were totally thrilled by the Bald Eagle, who seemed to follow us, near the end of our trip. We paused briefly to see the historic Farnsworth House by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.
We also saw Great Blue Herons, Great Egrets, Orioles, Kingfishers, and lots of peaceful stretches of gently flowing river.
