Springbrook Bike Trail – Goldenrod everywhere!

Biking Springbrook Forest Preserve

Sringbrook prairie is brightly colored by the seasonal bloom of the Goldenrod prairie plants.

We parked at the Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve main parking lot at 83rd Street just West of Book Road. We biked the perimeter trail by starting East along then turned South going parallel to Book Road, turn East running near 87 St, then headed North roughly following Naperville Plainfield road, then back West along 75th. The trail then snaked South down to our start point.

The bright yellow of the Goldenrod and late evening lighting made for a beautiful ride.

The trail is crushed gravel; it is very nicely groomed. The land is mostly flat with a couple of hills and a few bridges over the marsh areas. This was a popular spot with lots of other bike riders and walkers.
