Friday 6/30/17
-UA5882 7:30-11amET on time Cathie upgraded
-Hertz small SUV Tiguan, too small
-rain on and off all day, hot
-Charleston Courtyard Waterfront, rooms 116 and 242 (Liz)
–Nice, big lobby, view of pool and waterfront
-Historic Charleston walking tour
-Lunch at Lowcountry Bistro on Market Street
-Bought some wine at the Marina Wine Shop
-Dinner with Dublinski family at Crave Restaurant, Mt Pleasant
-Taylor from NaperPetCare.com took care of the cats. Sent us pictures each day
Saturday 7/1/17
-Cathie’s Birthday (overshadowed by Mike’s celebration)
-Golf at Patriots Point Link w/Dick and Pete + Groomsmen
–only 9 holes, should have done 18
–after, Mike forgot his suit and had to drive back and forth
–nap afterwards
-Target-picture frames
-FIG (Food is good) on Meeting Street Birthday dinner with Ian and Leslie
Sunday 7/2/17
-Tour of Magnolia Plantation & Garden
–Included as we are part of a wedding
–Lunch at the Cafe
–Really hot
–Stayed until 1pm-ish
-Back at Magnolia for rehearsal
–really hot
–Wedding planner did all the guiding. Priest too
–Got done at 4:30, just enough time for us to get back to the hotel to change
-Rehearsal Dinner at 82 Queens
–Uber back and forth
–26 people, Both Grandmas, niece Molly
–Welcome speech and two toasts by me. Very proud, very happy
–Jon Curry took care of us
–Sat next to Nasse
–Groomsmen: lots of appetizers, lots of beer
–Wonderful gifts from Mike and Liane. Crying and hugs
–Warm thank you from Dick Dublinski
–Kids went out afterwards
Monday 7/3/17
-Waited Liane’s lost phone found at 82 Queens
-Cathie to Magnolia for hair and makeup at 12:30
-Went to Belmond Charleston Place to give them a new credit card number. Mike was there dropping off suitcases.
-Jack to Magnolia by 4pm, but pickup Nasse and Lee first, arrived at 4:15
-Dressed, but groomsmen weren’t. Dressed in A/C’d room in Plantation House
-Pam was with us. Happy, but soon tired out and fell asleep
-Photographers walking around with umbrellas. Rain delay at 5pm no pre-wedding photos
–Photographers liked Mike face on the socks.
–Sun came out after the rain. Cooled down a little
-Mike gave groomsmen pocket watches
-Buses arrived about 15 minutes late
-Beautiful wedding, music, priest.
-Very moving wedding vows
-Family photos afterwards
-Got a ride to the reception at the Carriage house
-Reception was wonderful.
-Cathie / Mike danse: Stevie Nick’s Landslide made me cry, Vicki held me.
-I had a couple of appetizers, a mini-steak and potatos and a small cup of mac and cheese. No time for eating
-Excited to find the medical school tables. We both said hi.
-Nice talk with Uncle Terry, Kate’s Mom and Dad.
-I talked the leader of the band and the catering service
-The band played our Billy Joel song
-Sparklers for send off… old time limo
-pictures of our wedding and Mom and Dad’s wedding
-wrong bus company
Tuesday 7/4/17
-Brunch at the Hilton Garden Inn — 39 people, including Mike and Liane!
-Lazy day by the pool or in the lobby, Met Carl and Debbie (he’s Vietnam Vet, USS America)
-Fireworks on USS Yorktown at Patriots point VIP!
-Carl bought a USS America hat and showed me the A7 on the deck
-Food buffet, drinks and live band
-Beautiful fireworks
-took about an hour to clearout the parking lot, hotel by 11pm
-Mike needed to get to Med School the next morning. Not easy for him.
